is a rather unique company in the self-publishing services industry. Lulu offers a very do-it-yourself process, but not in a good way. The author is responsible for editing and formatting the book. Lulu provides some very basic cover design templates, but they do not create very appealing covers. In many ways, they are much more aligned with Amazon's CreateSpace than with any of the other self-publishing services companies. Lulu provides more printing and distribution services than real publishing assistance.

We cannot recommend for the serious author. However, for someone looking to publish a very simple book for personal or hobby use, then is an option worth considering. However, you can do the same thing through Amazon's CreateSpace at slightly better cost and cheaper distribution through Amazon.
