Outskirts Press

Outskirts Press has been in business for over 10 years and produces a decent book. They offer a broad range of options for the author, but they present them in a very confusing manner. If an author is very careful and selective, they can utilize Outskirts to produce a good book and retain control over their book. We also believe that on an overall basis Outskirts may be more expensive than competitors, but this will vary on the options selected.
We don't totally eliminate Outskirts as a potential self-publishing services partner, but an author needs to proceed with caution.
- Beware of the fixed packages - it is unclear exactly what is included in them
- Distribution and pricing control is very confusing - get as broad of distribution as possible
- Watch out for add-ons that will inflate the cost of the package
